• 2002 MS Competency Model (2002) Through a collaborative effort between the MS Council of Deans and Directors of Schools of Nursing and representatives of the MS Organizations of Nurse Executives (MONE), under the direction of consultant, Dr. Lisa W. Eichelberger, the Mississippi Nursing Competency Model was developed. The document clearly defines the major nursing roles and competencies within each role. The Model has been used by MS Schools of Nursing to develop or modify curriculum. It is anticipated that the Model can be used to help nursing employers work toward the right nurse with the right preparation caring for the right patient in the right setting at the right cost.
